Ola Gentle
Ola is one of the Owners of Paws Above, and the Executive Director of the rescue. She has been caring for and training dogs her whole adult life, 23 years! She is most passionate however when it comes to homeless dogs. She has been rescuing and rehoming dogs for as long as she has been training them.
Jeff Gentle
Jeff is one of the Owners of Paws Above. Together with Ola, Jeff left his full time job to focus on the dogs. Jeff has incredible skills in reading dogs and is always teaching us to relax and give them lots of love and attention. He also takes a lot of amazing pictures and videos of our guests!
Dawn Lemay-Hayward
Dawn is our rescue's President and also our Adoptions Manager. With so much to do behind the scenes involving rescue work (home checks, paper work, interviews) Dawn has graciously stepped up and is now the leading force to be reckoned with if you apply to adopt one of our dogs.
Shauna Thom
Shauna has been training and assisting with training, for Paws Above since our inception. You may have seen her in class on many occasions. Shauna has been pivotal in class, but more importantly as a friend. Her honest comments are respected and her passion for making a difference while staying humble are envied.
Sandra Mendes Santos
Sandra is a long time friend and follower of Paws Above. She has taken many classes and her pup Abby loves to attend daycare. Recently she decided to start volunteering on the rescue side of things and is now our Adoptions Administrator. We are happy to have her on the team!
Maya Bryzgalski
Maya is the closest person in the world like a mother to Ola. The most impressive quality of hers and Kubas (her husband) is their patience for difficult dogs and fostering them. She sees no "problem" or "issue"...she just sees the good. Trust us when we say she is a seasoned foster parent! Maya you are our rock!
Apollo - RIP Sweet boy
Apollo is Ola’s French Bulldog. Anyone who knows Ola knows that she is a bulldog girl! Apollo has been her sidekick in training, and a familiar face here at the farm. His favourite thing of all time is BALLS!
Mars
Mars is a permanent resident here at the farm. She was surrendered to Ola due to her fear reactivity and is living her best life on the farm because of her specific needs. She loves quick pats, treats and playing fetch!
Bruce
Bruce was a rescue that came to the farm because he required a home where he could be a working dog. This guy is a big suck, and watches over our farm animals! Bruce is happy and fulfilled here while at work….and dont come near his goats and chickens!
Bob
Bob is a permanent resident here. His fear reactivity with humans was enough that his original owners had several professionals tell them to euthanize him. Bob is safe and happy here at the farm, and loves to chase the ATV as well as crawl under blankets to nap!
Tayo - RIP sweet boy
Tayo came to us as a Mexican rescue with a bit of a shuffled past. He is the true meaning of “couch potato” and has made his permanent home here at the farm. He spends his days puttering around outside 10% of the time and culerd up into a pretzel 90% of the time
